Tetruss 25th Anniversary: AVN Spotlights the Milestone Anniversary Celebrating 25 Years of the Iconic Portable BDSM Dungeon & Exclusive Once-a-Year Holiday Sale

Adult Video News (AVN), the leading authority in the adult entertainment industry for over 40 years, has officially spotlighted the Tetruss 25th anniversary as a defining milestone in kink innovation and American manufacturing. In a featured press release, AVN recognizes Tetruss as the longest-running, most trusted portable BDSM suspension rig ever created — one that has fundamentally transformed how individuals, couples, and professionals worldwide engage in safe, dynamic bondage, shibari, suspension, and sex-swing play.

Launched in 2000 by founder and inventor Galen Fous, Tetruss was born from the fusion of Buckminster Fuller’s tetrahedral synergetic geometry and raw kink necessity. The result: a completely freestanding, lightweight (under 30 lbs), fully collapsible and portable suspension frame that assembles in minutes without permanent fixtures and supports dynamic full-body weight in even the most intense scenes.

For a quarter-century, Tetruss has remained the unchallenged gold standard in portable BDSM dungeons. Handcrafted entirely in the USA using high quality aluminum and high-tensile components, every unit is load-tested far beyond real-world requirements. The current lineup includes the travel-ready original Standard Tetruss Rig, the headroom-enhanced Tetruss Maxximus, and the newest shibari focused Tetruss Bamboo Rig. These rigs continue to earn endorsements from the most respected names in the industry:

• Master rigger Lew Rubens (international workshops and performances)
• Pro-Domme Irene Boss (professional client sessions)
• Dan of 2 Knotty Boys (educational media)
• Street and stage rigger Bluesrope
• Self-suspension pioneer Shay Tiziano (global exhibitions)

In honor of this landmark Tetruss 25th anniversary, AVN is amplifying the brand’s exclusive once-a-year holiday sale, now live at Tetruss.com and running until January 2026. This limited-time event delivers the best discounts for those interested in getting their first rig, upgrading their current rig, or collecting the various accessories available, including:

• 10% off all Tetruss models, curated bundles, and accessories
• Newly released four-point sling engineered specifically for gay men’s rope bondage and suspension scenes
• Upgraded 2 foot extension to take your rig to 10 FEET!
• A new travel bag to specifically fit the Bamboo rig or Tmax Bamboo extension, including the bamboo pole – on wheels!

Galen Fous reflects on the journey: “Twenty-five years ago I combined Buckminster Fuller’s structural principles with unfiltered erotic desire to birth Tetruss. Today, knowing it has enabled thousands of breathtaking shibari suspensions, intense BDSM scenes, and ecstatic sex-swing experiences around the world has been the greatest pleasure of my life.”

AVN’s coverage underscores that no competing product has ever matched Tetruss for true portability, proven safety, or real-world versatility — whether converting a hotel room into an instant private dungeon, facilitating discreet outdoor play, or anchoring professional studios.

With mainstream curiosity about BDSM at an all-time high, the Tetruss 25th anniversary represents more than a product milestone; it celebrates the ongoing evolution of safe, consensual, and creatively liberated kink culture.

Tetruss History –  I came up with the original Tetruss design in the late 1990’s. I was already active and out in the Kink scene. I would travel on business and meet-up with play partners at hotels I was staying at. I started to wonder about having a portable dungeon and sex swing (Shibari wasn’t on the radar yet!) that I could easily set up in a hotel room, or at the beach, in the woods…or anywhere! It had to be lightweight, easy to assemble and be freestanding. It had to be portable. When I was younger I studied the fascinating works of design scientist and inventor Bucky Fuller. In his syenrgetic geometry model, he termed the Tetrahedron to be the most stable structural design in universe. In a flash of inspiration these two vectors of my life synergized into the initial Tetruss tetrahedral design. That’s the short story! I hope you enjoy checking out all the innovative designs that have evolved out of that original concept 25 years ago. Galen Fous, Owner Tetruss.com
